This article will only touch on a few key locations in New York City. All businesses offer amazing foods, diverse menus, and a fantastic ambiance.
Joe’s Pizza

I know, I know, you’ve heard of it already. This is both iconic and a classic you have probably seen in the Spider-Man movie. However, it truly is worth the hype for you to go and try it. Good things get good reviews for a reason. The location is known for having a line consistently out the door. However, when you are in the line, it does move along extremely quickly. The wait is about 15 minutes if you start just out the door, including waiting for the pizza to be ready. You walk in, and it’s like walking right into a vintage movie scene. All employees were extremely welcoming and friendly.
“Established in 1975 by Joe Pozzuoli, who is originally from Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza, Joe’s Pizza is a “Greenwich Village institution” offering the classic New York slice for over 47 years. First, we served our customers from our corner location at Bleecker and Carmine Street, and now three doors down at 7 Carmine Street. At 75 years of age, Joe Pozzuoli still owns and operates the restaurant.” – Joe’s Pizza
They have more information on the history of the business on their website, as well as online ordering if that is easiest for you, they do the classic NYC deliveries on bikes.
Din Tai Fung

This restaurant is EXTREMELY well known in the Tiktok food community. Their location in New York City is in Midtown at 1633 Broadway, New York, New York. Additionally, this location is known for booking out reservations months in advance. That being said, to make sure you’re able to go, plan ahead for this one! They also put availability on the website immediately after cancellations, so if you get lucky, you can book the day of.
The restaurant is completely underground, when you are looking for the restaurant on arrival, please do not be surprised if what it looks like on the outside is not what you expected.
The inside is beautifully put together, inspired by the owner’s history in Taiwan. It is the perfect setting for your family dinner, a work outing, or a date night. They have a wide variety on their menu, and the prices are fair. Something you MUST try there is their Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). They are extremely flavorful and a fun experience to eat. No worries if you don’t know how to eat them yet, they include cards on each table with a video and description of how to eat them. (Which is not as complex as you may think)
They do have online ordering. However overall, being in the restaurant is truly an amazing experience you will not want to miss out on.
La Pecora Bianca
This PERFECT Italian restaurant will be your new favorite place to eat. The past three times I’ve been to the city, I have chosen to eat at one of their 6 locations. The interior is very sophisticated, with a vibrant and fun energy you will be sure to enjoy.

Above is the location at 1133 Broadway, which is their “Nomad” Location. Each location has a bit of a different menu, but all have some of the same staples, including a popular favorite, Cacio e Pepe. This translates to Cheese and pepper and is the closest they offer to an Alfredo.

The Above pictures are from the “Midtown” location. On the left is the favorite Cacio e Pepe, and on the right is the Chicken Paillard. The Chicken Paillard is a bed of chicken cutlets topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes, capers, and fresh parmesan. (YES, the giant slices on top are fresh, REAL Parmesan)

Each location also features its own specials, above on the right is the Arancini. (Three Cheese Fried Risotto). If you get a chance to get the appetizer, make sure you take it; they are just as good as the meal. The entire experience at this restaurant will leave you wanting to come back every time. And if you can try their Tropicale Cocktail, make sure you do! This drink incorporates Mezcal, Aperol, Pineapple, and will leave you speechless. La Pecora Bianca
Anita Gelato
This charming shop has so much to offer. It is perfect for adorable pictures of you, you with your SO, or with your friends. They also don’t only have gelato, in the picture attached, their delicious sorbet is shown. The Raspberry Sorbet and Strawberry Sorbet are mixed in this image, a flavor combination you cannot skip. Creamy, delicate, and flavorful are all ways to describe this delicious treat.

In addition to being delicious, this may be the most authentic tasting sorbet and gelato I have ever tasted. The staff is very sweet and has amazing and different suggestions for those of us who don’t quite know what we want. You will not be disappointed with this adorable shop. A main difference I noticed with this sorbet/gelato and others is that it feels so airy yet rich and does not make you feel heavy like certain gelato or ice cream can make your stomach feel.
